There are a million different ways you can customize your clothing to make it more artful, more fun, last longer, repair it, and otherwise reimagine it. In this series, we will be exploring what it means to creatively alter and mend our clothes, and learning about some easy, accessible techniques you can use in a clothes upcycling practice. We will focus on visible mending, surface design techniques (including printmaking on fabric), destruction, and dyeing. We will also talk about what to look for when you do end up needing to source new clothing to make sure it lasts as long as possible and is as mendable/upcycle-able as possible.
